About the Project
Los Alamos County is beginning Phase I of improvements at Guaje Pines Cemetery. The project will expand cremation interment options, improve accessibility, and enhance amenities to help ensure the cemetery continues to serve the community for generations to come.
Community input will help inform the project as the design moves forward.
What's Being Planned?
Phase I of the project includes planning and design for:
- Two prefabricated columbarium units
- An ossuary, scattering garden, and cenotaph
- Accessibility and ADA improvements
- Landscape improvements
- Site and utility coordination
The project is guided by the Guaje Pines Cemetery Master Plan and will help address the community's growing need for additional burial and cremation options.
How Can You Participate?
Los Alamos County wants to hear from community members, families, and others interested in the future of Guaje Pines Cemetery. We welcome the community to attend public meetings and listening sessions. These meetings will be available in person and via zoom.
