Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Mark your calendars for the Los Alamos DWI Planning Council Winter Festival at SALA Event Center on February 27, 2025, from 4:30-8:30 p.m. The event is an 18+ substance-free event with music, food trucks, movies, games, and mocktails. Entry and activities are free, and the food and mocktails will be available for purchase by attending vendors.
The night will include many activities for community members 18 and over to enjoy. In the dance room, DJ PET will be providing the tunes; two movies will be shown in two different theaters starting at 5:45 and 6 p.m; Samizdat Bookstore will be in the fourth room providing board games of all types; and various food vendors will be parked outside the Event Center, and a mocktail bar will be available the foyer.
