Temporary ACT Route 2T detour begins July 27, 2026
Published on July 20, 2026
Los Alamos, New Mexico—Due to the Grand Canyon Drive Slurry Seal Project, Atomic City Transit's Route 2T will operate on a temporary detour, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., beginning July 27, 2026.
Construction will occur in phases, requiring temporary route adjustments and the closure of several bus stops. Riders are encouraged to review the detour maps below to identify the temporary bus stops available during each phase of the project.
Phase 1: NM 4 to Rover Boulevard
During Phase 1, Route 2T will not travel along Grand Canyon Drive between Rover Boulevard and NM 4. Instead, buses will detour from Rover Boulevard to NM 4, continue along Sherwood Boulevard, and then travel through Aztec Street before returning to the regular route. Please use the bus stops located along Sherwood Boulevard and Aztec Street during this phase.
