Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.
Municipal Court Judge
The Honorable Allen is serving her second four-year term as the Presiding Judge of the Los Alamos County Municipal Court. Term ends December 31, 2026.
Established by the Charter of the Incorporated County of Los Alamos as authorized and required by state law, the Los Alamos County Municipal court has limited jurisdiction and is operating within the New Mexico Municipal Court System. It is an independent branch of government, and is constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to attain justice for the individual and society through the rule of law. The Los Alamos County Municipal Court has jurisdiction over petty misdemeanors and violations of Municipal Code such as traffic, DWI, and animal control violations.
